I am always looking for ways to support my local community. Thanks to input from my friends on Facebook, here is a list of organizations I know and support. If you have a community focused organization in the Mason District area of Fairfax County, tell me about it. Use the submission form at the bottom of this page. There are so many opportunities to help those in need in our local area. I encourage you to support these and other fine local organizations

Stuart Pyramid Resource Fair
The Stuart Pyramid includes approximately 8,600 students, and greater than 67% of these children qualify for free or reduced special price school meals. Many Stuart Pyramid families are struggling to make ends meet and often do not have the additional funds to purchase school supplies. Although the Stuart Pyramid enjoys support from several nonprofit partners, the growing need in our community falls short of covering all students. The Stuart Pyramid Back-to-School Resource Fair leverages existing community resources and addresses this unmet demand. Our goal is to make this an annual event so all FCPS students arrive at school prepared to learn!

Friends of Scouting
The Boy Scouts of America is an organization that has been important to me both as a young man and an adult. Many of my greatest challenges in life were experienced in this organization. I believe it is the only group that teaches young men (and now young women) important skills in leadership and citizenship. I encourage you to donate.
